Since bursting onto the neo-psych scene with their 2019 debut album Unity, SPIRAL DRIVE, the visionary project of German-Austrian multi-instrumentalist and music producer Raphaël Neikes, has evolved into one of Europe’s most dynamic and boundary-pushing psychedelic acts.
-
Their second full-length, Visions in Bloom (2022), anchored by the multi-million-streamed single Space Train, cemented their reputation.
The album fuses psychedelic rock, alternative, psych-pop, grunge, and indie into a dazzling, cohesive whole, earning comparisons to renowned artists like Tame Impala, King Gizzard, Queens of the Stone Age, MGMT, Nirvana and even Pink Floyd, yet existing defiantly outside any one genre. Alongside collaborators like Ben McLeod (All Them Witches) and Lord Fascinator (Children Collide), Neikes led a creative charge that has resonated across Europe, with a growing fanbase in the UK, USA, and Australia.
-
Last year their Beatles cover Tomorrow Never Knows, which features original artwork by Klaus Voormann (famously associated with the album cover of Revolver), earned acclaim across alternative press and far beyond their core fan base. While recent releases continue to attract international attention, work is underway on two studio albums: one full motorik-Krautrock exploration called REISE, the result of an intense one-week studio session with Lord Fascinator. REISE is slated for release in April 2026.
-
Additionally, Neikes has been working eagerly on a follow-up LP to Visions in Bloom, which is targeting the 2nd half of 2026. Both projects are currently in different stages of production.Following extensive touring in Europe and South Africa, and a furious Rockpalast live set in 2024, SPIRAL DRIVE launched their headline Green Vanilla Tour in the first half of 2025 with 23 passionate shows through seven countries, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the UK.
-
Their appearance at London’s New Cross Inn in June stands as their UK live debut, fulfilling the long-hailed anticipation of their British fanbase.
As SPIRAL DRIVE continues to spark excitement across Europe, the UK debut marks a pivotal moment, consolidating their growing prominence within the scene and signaling greater ambitions in territories like North America and Australia.
With new music on the horizon and a reputation for immersive, genre-fluid performances, their next chapter promises to be even more audacious.
